by Anonymous - 2010-04-15 : My review of the "Duh Planet" is based upon several years of experience with company as a NorthStar client. This plan was designed to act as the ideal B2B surrogate to SMB Hosting resellers and In-house support infrastructures direct to businesses, huh . . . wow! Sound too good to be true? It is! Not only did these guyz fail miserably - canceling more than half of their scheduled Report Meetings with our Team, EVEN WORSE - they ran multiple unauthorized charges on a "One-Time / Per Incident" credit card [evidentially a reoccurring theme for these heisters] - after being clearly instructed to remove our information from their database after each use. This all boils down Ethics, Honor and Scrupulous Business Practices, to which, this company has NONE - you can't afford this Provider at any price! "Caveat Emptor" |

by Thomas - 2010-03-27 : Order a new Redhat server dedicated server on 3/24. the sales person forgot to add panel. create ticket on 3/25. nothing is done until 3/26. waited all day 3/26, finally they told me that can't get the server to install properly. they start charging from the date i ordered. 3 days later, they still can't get the server up. Don't trust these people at the planet. If they can't setup a new server, don't expect they can keep your server up in the long run. I have a windows server with them for the last 5 years, it was down for more than 10 days when they power went out. It was down several times because some guy over there decided to change firewall policy or something. The planet sure got a lot of morons. I am moving all my servers in house. |

by Paul Kruger - 2009-08-19 : I terminated my account while in the process of setting up. ThePlanet only partially set up the server I ordered. They set up other than what I told my sales person I needed. I had asked for a managed server and received a decent price. I faxed some special needs for setup in advance. I faxed a ONE_TIME credit card authorization with a specific expiration date and written instructions that the data was not to be entered into any database. They pretty much ignored everything I indicated I needed and did what they wanted then asked for more money to finish my setup instructions, telling me I had an "unmanaged" server. The quote did not specify managed or unmanaged and I assumed it was quoted as I had requested. I am still in the battle for a refund for a server that was not delivered as I ordered and for use of my credit card after the date the authorization expired. Don't trust the Planet. They will say anything to get you to sign a contract then you will find yourself facing unresponsive customer service trying to make it work. I will stay with Rackspace which has treated me very well for over 8 years despite the higher cost. Moral: If you get good service already don't try to save a dime by moving. If you move to the Planet you will be very sorry you did. |
