by G Thomas - 2010-09-09 : I just transferred to Arvixe from webhost4life, and the difference has been wonderful. The staff is knowledgeable and the servers are responsive. There was a minor issue in billing when I set up my account, and the resolved it with minutes. The servers are running MUCH faster than the servers at my old host. I was satisfied with webhost4life until they migrated to a new set of servers. I was down for 10 days (I had to change to a new host to actually get the site back up!) I also heard that webhost4life was bought out. I am looking forward to working with a real service company!!! |

Maddog had an SQL database limit of 200mb which was too small for a decent size web store www.ericsoutdoorfurniture.com so i had to look for a new host. Found Arvixe and switched. Noticed a considerable speed increase. It's even cheaper than my old host and I can host up to 5 sites on my one account each with it's own SQL database. (I am currently hosting 2 very nice complete sites on one account) Have never had any problems with downtime and support has been great. They even helped me move over my databases from my old server. |

I moved from my previous host after they dropped most of my site files and then wanted $150 to restore the site. I was absolutely shocked and decided to move my operation that very day. I have had great experiences with both email and online support and for the most part have gotten through to an online support representitive within a minute or two. I have noticed some glitches when using IE8 for administration, but in all fairness it may be the browser settings. I heard about Arvixe through nopCommerce.com who lists Arvixe as a host. When I signed up, they didn't push any extras, everything was pretty straight forward. I wanted a California hosting company figuring my business is in California, so my site would load a little quicker. I have a pretty simple site, it loads quickly and it was very easy for me to load it on to the Arvixe server, a couple of little glitches and it was done. Both the chat tech support and the phone support were excellent and I waited less than two minutes. So far so good. |

We started with a Personal account, but soon found out that it was using too much server cpu, the boss of Arvixe chatted with me, and they even migrated my site(s) over to a new better server, didn't have to touch a thing! Loads of nice features in Cpanel, slightly more complex than with our previous host (1&1), but with that complexity comes flexibility to do pretty much whatever you want. There are plenty of beginners videos to watch and hand holding too. I've only ever needed to contact support staff on two occasions, one was the migration mentioned above, second was for a really major incident - which was not fault of arvixe and the support staff are simply second to none, they bend over backwards to help as much as possible! A very happy customer! |

You may get a slightly cheaper plan somewhere else, but support and speed will definitely suffer. I've even tried the "you get what you pay for" approach and went with Media Temple. While their support is great, the speed didn't come anywhere close to what I get now at Arvixe. Occasionally I'll have a tech support question, and my preferred method of contact is the live chat option. That could use some improvement, as most simple issues even seem to take 10-15 minutes. Overall I'm very happy with Arvixe's speed, service and cost. |

I have used a number of other hosting services, but Arvixe is by far the cheapest, most reliable and has the best support. The only issue I have found is that Arvixe does not let you modify DNS entries to domains hosted by them. This is only a small issue. If you need any DNS editing done, you can contact the support team and they will do it for you. All in all, Arvixe is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone! |

I didnʻt like not being able to ping the servers but found it wasnʻt necessary due to the high availability and excellent response times. I received notice whenever there has been downtime for maintenance so I could notify the users of my sites. The administration with respect to account setup and billing has been excellent. I havenʻt had any billing issues. Charges have been accurate. I cancelled accounts to upgrade them and have not had any problems cancelling or migrating from one plan to another. I havenʻt had many reasons to use the Tech Support. The support was excellent the two times Iʻve used Tech Support. The only issue that I havenʻt been able to resolve is the ftp accounts in the PersonalClass PRO plan is not as separate (with regards to domains) as they are with the PersonalClass plan. I have used other (two) web hosting services and Arvixe has been the best. |

That took quite awhile to find. When I did find it, the information was difficult for a non professional to follow. The set up process is complex, and I feel now that I need to purchase a third party web creation program. At least with Yahoo I could get a simple page up and running easily right away. |

Three diff web-mail interfaces, 3 diff software install options, forwarding & auto-responder combos, 3 (or 2 at least) spam blocking software/technologies. We have many, many domains, and switching from godaddy, after several years, this has been the most exciting hosting experience I've had yet. I've been a web-designer and consultant for years, and I have to say that, while I'm sure there are hosting companies out there just as good as arvixe, they are going to have a different price-to-feature ratio that is probably not as competitive. I recommend arvixe for basically any application (including e-commerce). Specifically I can say, if you're a the type of person with only one or two domains, and you're looking for more professional hosting, at a slightly higher price, with no LIMITS to worry about on your accounts bandwidth, space, email, databases, then Arvixe should be set up against the other hosts you are going to consider, without a doubt. Whatever host you decide on, know that Arvixe is going to be a great choice should you want to switch for any reason. |

I've used other hosts like Globat, BlueHost, HostMonster, etc., but the MASSIVE difference for me was the cost vs. features. I have not found any other host to come CLOSE to Arvixe. I realize the Control Panel is very similar, but Arvixe comes with FFMPEG installed and their whole POV is rich media based. I've only contacted support twice and both times the response was fast and clear. Not like other hosts that force you to work your way through tiers of techs that ultimately give condescending, cryptic excuses as to why they can't help you. I'm definitely going to stick with Arvixe...and upgrade my account. |

Originally I started with a windows plan but later wanted to switch to linux. They've completed my switch under an hour and without any issues. As far as customer support goes, I've only contacted them about 3-4 times with minor questions. They are very responsive and answered/resolved my questions in no time. I like that they provide various skins for linux control panel with lots of information. Two thumbs up after 9 months of service! |
